Project ideas

What?How?Why?
A culture show: students present information or interview each other on cultural festivals and celebrations.Students listen to a podcast on a cultural event in another part of the world.

They then discuss which festivals are special in their culture.

Students use sound recording software to interview each other about the festival.
Describing cultural events is a realistic task that should motivate students, especially if they are describing an event to someone from another culture.
A travel show: students present dialogues between two people about directions, how to get from one place to another.Students listen to a podcast on direction in other town or city.
Then they discuss how to get to the place they have choosen.
Students use sound recording software to tell each other how to get from one place to another, using directions.
Asking the way to the place in unknown town or a city is a realistic task  that can motivate students to talk, especially if they describe the way to a stranger.
School news: students present information or interview school's staff about current school news.Students discuss what new has happened during the week.
Students use sound recording software to interview school's staff and their schoolmates about the current events.
Presenting information about the current events in the school is a realistic task that can motivate students to talk, to share their ideas and to be in touch with the situation.
